Welcome to the Albemarle County naturalist blog! This blog is a repository for research I've done and an amalgam of knowledge and information about the Charlottesville/Albemarle Country area, and hopefully it will be a useful tool to professional and amateur naturalists alike! Any interesting tidbits you know of or would like to share-- whether it be traditional Appalachian crafts, the strange behavior of cottontail rabbits during mating season, or a track or plant you would like identified-- I would be happy to post and share. This blog is meant to be a community, and most of all, a place where naturalists can find and share knowledge about the natural history of Charlottesville and Albemarle.
